Day 1 - Phlegraean Fields
Arrival and visit to Phlegraean Fields, a journey into the myth. Guided tour of the acropolis of Cuma, with its temples and the Cave of the Sibyl reopened and brought to the ancient splendor. We will move to Pozzuoli with a visit to the Flavian Amphitheatre and the so-called Temple of Serapis. Day 2 - Naples
Breakfast at the Hotel and departure for Naples. Day dedicated to the discovery of the city. Visit of the historic center: "la Spaccanapoli" with the church of Santa Chiara, the Church of Gesù Nuovo, the Cathedral of San Gennaro where the remains of the saint are preserved and finally the workshops of Neapolitan cribs famous throughout the world. Lunch with reinforced pizza menu during the excursion. The guided tour continues with a visit to the National Archaeological Museum which boasts the richest and most valuable heritage of works of art and artifacts of archaeological interest in Italy and is considered one of the most important archaeological museums in the world. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Pompeii and Vesuvius
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Pompeii. Visit to the archaeological area. Typical lunch in the restaurant on Vesuvius to enjoy the excellent products of Vesuvius accompanied by local wines. Continue to visit the Vesuvius National Park with a climb to the top of the crater from where you can admire a spectacular view. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Grumentum and Miglionico
Breakfast at the hotel and release of the rooms. Departure to the Archaeological Park of Grumentum. Located in the territory of the National Park of the Lucano Apennines Val d'Agri Lagonegrese, contains the remains of the ancient Roman city. Typical lunch to taste the excellent local products accompanied by local wines. Continue to Miglionico. In the afternoon guided walk around the village. Located on top of a complex of four hills, Miglionico is nicknamed "Napulicch" (the little Naples) for some legends related to the Neapolitan city. Stands the castle called Malconsiglio not by chance, because here was held in 1485 what has remained, in historical memory, as the "Conspiracy of the Barons" against the Aragonese and the King of Naples Ferdinando I. Day 5 - Matera
Breakfast in the hotel and day dedicated to the visit of Matera. Guided tour by walk within the area of the Sassi of Matera. It will be possible to admire and visit the Casa Grotta furnished in typical style with antique furniture and tools, to get a precise idea of how rural life was organized in the houses of the Sassi; Piazza Vittorio Veneto, beautiful nineteenth-century square from where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Civita and Sasso Barisano. We will descend into Sasso Caveoso, the most evocative and ancient part of the Sassi remained authentic over time, along a path that winds through terraces, squares, rock churches, typical houses and alleys.
