We start our guided tour to discover the monumental center of Naples, an area that reflects the historical and architectural wealth of the city. This tour will allow you to explore the wonders that define the monumental Naples and understand the importance of the city in the European panorama.

Our tour starts at Piazza Municipio, the political heart of Naples since medieval times. Here, in addition to admiring the facade of Palazzo San Giacomo, seat of the City of Naples, we will also have a spectacular view of the Maschio Angioino, also known as Castel Nuovo. This imposing castle, with its Gothic and Renaissance architecture, is one of the symbols of the city and a witness to its rich history. The guide will introduce you to the history of this square that has seen important historical and institutional events. From Piazza Municipio, we will head to the Royal Palace Museum, located in Piazza del Plebiscito. This palace, residence of the Bourbon kings, is one of the most representative monuments of monumental Naples. The visit to the museum will allow us to explore the court theatre, a jewel of 18th century theatrical architecture, famous for its elegance and intimacy. We will discover the beautifully furnished halls, which once hosted events of great importance and royal ceremonies. We will not forget to visit the Palatine Chapel, a place of worship that reflects the grandeur of the Bourbon dynasty and its artistic and religious influences. We will continue our guided walk to Piazza Plebiscito, the ancient Largo di Palazzo, which during the nineteenth century took its current configuration. This vast square is surrounded by some of the most emblematic monuments in Naples. We will start with a view of the exterior of the San Carlo Theatre, one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world. Your guide will tell you the history of this magnificent place, which has hosted some of the greatest operas in the opera tradition, while you admire its elegant facade. Next to the theatre, we will explore the Galleria Umberto I, an elegant covered shopping centre built at the end of the 19th century.  Its architecture, characterized by a large glass dome and a decorated facade, is an extraordinary example of Neapolitan liberty architecture. You will discover how this space has become a symbol of modern Naples, harmoniously integrating with the surrounding historical structures. Our tour will end with a reflection on how the Bourbon dynasty left an indelible mark on the city, leaving its mark in its architecture and history. The visit will allow you to better understand the role of Naples as capital of the kingdom and center of European history during that period.
